Great way to learn it knows many words. I dont know why people say this is not ASL when it is. Some of the words are not perfect but still close enough to keep 5 stars... Expect to be slightly corrected when learning from this app. 95% of the time it gets the word right! Totally worth the money!

If you want a great reference for learning Sign Language, Look no further. As others have pointed out you must consult other resources for ASL grammar and sentence structure. This app is a great tool for learning words. The 3D and rotate features elevates this app above the rest. Thanks Vcom3D

Im a beginning signer, but I already had basic vocabulary down when I got this app. But this is a huge help and really easy to use! I love being able to position the guy and control the speed of the signing - its great when learning a tricky sign. Plus, this app has a ton of signs - more than double the number of the heavy ASL dictionary I used to carry around!

Why are the words "Good" and "Thank you" exactly the same? No matter how you turn it they are. There is a big difference in saying "Good Morning" and "Thank You Morning"

Oh em gee this is such a rip off. It needs way more words but atleast it can tell u sentences and not 1 word just by itself

IT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean you dont need carry the fat dictionary book or ASL dictionary book. If someone said Hate... u check the books looking for "Hate" i dont know what is mean plus if u go out somewhere read the books or something not sure they have ready ASL for you SOOOO that one not mean " ASL" like good sign language skills no no same idea The books dont have "ASL" real same thing that one good app carry with you if they can sign language for you one word or garmra but good thing i learned new word i was like wow this help me more clear with write like t.v " should we get playing" not mean "get" have other mean too that make sense make me understand and more clear that not mean "ASL full deaf curtle" that not mean same the dictionary sign language book not show like that i like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hope

Doesnt include a searchable dictionary, finger spells out words that clearly Do have signs... They cut way too many corners with this one.... Im sure it will be a 99 cent app in a month ot two. Dissapointed.... Not as expected.

In my profession of speech-language pathology, I thought this would be an incredibly worthwhile and convenient app (nearly instant availability of signs vs. lugging a signing dictionary around & stopping to look up unfamiliar signs). This was actually one of my first apps purchased and to date (months & months later), at least 50 - 75% of conmonly occurring signs for which Ive searched have been fingerspelling! For an app developed with input from fluent signers, I expect to find signs for the words I search. I must say, though, that the avatar and different views available ARE outstanding!

Missing many useful words. If I wanted to spell everything out, I wouldnt need an app for that. Also treats the words "gay" and "lesbian" as if they were swear words and ignores them completely - obviously a conscious decision on the part of a homophobic design team. How strange and sad that they chose to ignore the needs of gay and lesbian deaf people.

Its really good but they should explain how to do the sign too.

There are quite a few words I entered that are being finger-spelled when I KNOW there is a sign for it ("swing", "pumpkin", "melon") ... There are also some signs that are WRONG ("rooster", "chicken") My other beef is I wish the speed control would remember its setting between app uses. Hopefully all these things will be improved.

This is a great app if you are taking a asl course to use as a reference! All in all I would say it was worth the asking price! Wish it would not rely on finger spelling so much though... this needs some updating.

Too much fingerspelling when the Sign already exists. Too much Signed English. NOT a good tool for those trying to learn ASL! Wish I could return this app. I need REAL ASL, not this.

I took a chance paying 10 bucks for this app, hoping it would do what it said. Well I am totally amazed at how great this app is. Just like it says, type in a sentence and watch the Avatar sign for you with each word you typed below as he signs. The 3D feature works great, allowing you to turn the Avatar on either side and watch him sign from a side view, overhead view or even underneath view. Speed him up, slow him down and hell just keep repeating the signs over and over again. My wife is an advanced sign lanquage interpreter in our church but I havent been able to learn from her. This app will sign over and over for me and not get frustrated with me.lol

Some words are missing but overall this is a great app to learn sign and the ability to rotate and slow down makes it easy to get the signs right.

Its the best. However there are Words that have a sign its doesnt know it though. There should be a option for either ASL or English. It spells a lot... There are signs for something that it doesnt know. This app needs a major update to some signs. Overall its barely worth the money. Its good, just not $10.23 worth it.

I just got this app & was worried about the price but it seemed pretty cool. It has closed itself down several times, usually after asking me to specify the use of a word. Hope they fix this!
